How to Film Google Business Profile Video Verification at Salt Space Coworking

Google Business Profile – Video Verification Guide

Sometimes Google requires a Google Business Profile video verification to confirm your business address and real-world presence. This page gives you a clear, step-by-step guide to filming your Google video verification at Salt Space Coworking in New Farm, Brisbane — including required shots, common rejection reasons, and options if you can’t attend in person.

What is Google Business Profile video verification?

Google Business Profile video verification is a security check where Google asks you to record a short video showing your business location, signage, access, and operations. This helps Google confirm that:

  • The address you’ve listed is a real, physical location
  • Your business is actually operating from that address
  • You have access to the premises (for example, via keys or an access card)
  • Your branding and business name match your online profile

Use this exact address format

Keep your address identical everywhere (Google, website, socials, ABN/ASIC, directories):

Address Line 1: Level 1, 888 Brunswick Street, New Farm, QLD 4005

Address Line 2: Your office number (as per your Permission to Use Address).

Consistency helps Google confirm the address belongs to your business.

Google Business Video Verification

Google may require a video verification to confirm that your business is genuinely operating from the address listed on your Google Business Profile.

⚠️Important: Google determines whether a business profile is successfully verified. Salt Space does not control or influence Google’s verification decisions. The service we provide is guidance on how to complete the verification process and how to record the required video. Completion of this process does not guarantee Google will approve or verify your business profile.

This process must be completed by someone from your business. You will need to attend Salt Space in person, or send a staff member or authorised representative from your business to record the verification video.

How verification works at Salt Space

When completing your video verification at Salt Space, you will record the video yourself using your phone while logged in to your Google Business Profile.

During your booked session we prepare:

  • A reserved desk with signage in your business name
  • Access to the building
  • Your logo displayed at the entrance and at your desk
  • A workspace suitable for filming your business operations
  • A checklist of the shots Google typically requires

Booking & preparing for your verification session

  1. Add your Salt Space address to your Google Business Profile.
  2. Wait until Google requests a video verification (sometimes labelled “Business Video”).
  3. Email verification@saltspace.com.au to book a recording time.
  4. Send a high-resolution logo (PNG or JPEG) so we can prepare signage for your workspace.
  5. Attend your booked time and record the verification video using your phone while logged into your Google Business Profile.
Support available: Salt Space can guide you through setting up your Google Business Profile and explain how to correctly film the verification video to meet Google’s requirements.

Record on the day: required shots & submission

⚠️ Tip: Use Google Chrome when recording. Safari may block camera access or fail uploads, especially on iPhone.

Step 1 — Open your Google Business Profile & choose Video

Open Google Maps or the Google app → tap your profile photo → Your Business → select your business → tap Get Verified → choose Video. If prompted, allow camera and microphone access.

Step 2 — Capture the exterior (Brunswick Street)

Start outside: show the Brunswick Street sign and a brief pan of the surrounding street (avoid filming faces). Then frame the entrance to Salt Space.

Step 3 — Show “888 Brunswick Street” signage + mailbox

Clearly capture the “888 Brunswick St” references on the Salt Space entrance sign and mailbox. Google must be able to read the address on-screen.

Step 4 — Show your business name & logo at the entrance

We will place your logo at the entrance and above the mailbox. Film your business name and logo so Google sees your brand physically present at this address.

Step 5 — Prove access: unlock the door with the access card

Film yourself using the Salt Space access card to unlock the main door. You can close the door before filming to capture this step smoothly.

Step 6 — Show your reserved desk & workspace setup

Inside, film your reserved desk with signage in your business name. Optionally, show your laptop open to your website or business dashboard to demonstrate your active operations in the space.

Step 7 — Upload & submit

Tap Upload and keep the app open until you see confirmation. Most reviews take around 24–48 hours. If Google rejects your video, see the FAQs below and re-record any missing or unclear shots.

Rejections & re-verification (what to do next)

Google’s verification is now reviewed using automated checks (and sometimes manual review). It’s common for Google to request a re-record or ask you to complete a form — even when you’ve followed the steps correctly.

✅ If Google says “Video didn’t meet requirements” (re-record requested)

If your video didn’t meet all requirements, Google will show the reasons inside your Business Profile and allow you to submit a new video. Google will usually flag what was missing (for example: business name/signage not visible, no nearby area shown, or missing proof you’re authorised to operate at the address).

What to do (re-record)

  1. Open your Business Profile on your mobile.
  2. Tap Review issues and read the items Google has flagged.
  3. Re-record the video, making sure the missing elements are filmed clearly (no edits, one continuous video).
  4. Upload again and keep the app open until you see confirmation.
Tip: Re-recording is normal. Focus on making the street context, address signage, and your business name/logo very clear.
📝 If your profile shows “Rejected” and asks you to fill out a form

Sometimes Google won’t approve an address change automatically and will require a manual review. In this case, Google will prompt you to complete a form (appeal/review) and attach supporting documentation. Don’t submit multiple forms for the same issue while waiting for a decision.

What to do (form / manual review)

  1. Open your Business Profile and follow the prompt to the form. Note:at 60min timeframe to attach documents can be applied
  2. Complete the form and keep your explanation short and clear.
  3. Attach supporting documents that show your business name and the address exactly as listed.
  4. Submit once, then wait for Google’s review outcome.
Important: While Google is reviewing, avoid changing your address, category, business name, or ownership/access. Making changes during review can slow things down or restart parts of the process.
What will Google tell me has failed?

Google will typically show a message inside your Business Profile explaining what needs to be corrected. For video verification, you can view the items under Review issues and then submit a new video.

When should I contact support?

If your profile becomes restricted/suspended, or you’re unable to proceed via the prompts in your Business Profile, Google may require an appeal via their official tool.

Re-record requests and review forms are now a normal part of Google’s verification workflow. Google makes the final decision, but following the prompts and providing clear evidence usually resolves the issue.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Why does Google require video verification?

Google uses video verification to confirm that your business is real, operating at the address you’ve provided, and has legitimate access to the premises. It helps prevent spam listings and protects customers from misleading or fake locations.

What percent of Google video verifications are accepted?

Google doesn’t publish approval rates, but when all required elements are filmed clearly (street context, 888 Brunswick Street signage, and your business name/logo displayed at the address), most verifications are approved without issue. The final decision is made solely by Google.

If Google requests a re-record due to issues with these three required elements, we can re-record for you at no additional charge.

Are there cases where verification is rejected?

Yes. Rejections can occur when Google cannot clearly see one of the three key proof elements:

  • Street and exterior context (Brunswick Street + surrounding area)
  • Readable “888 Brunswick Street” signage and mailbox
  • Your business name/logo clearly displayed at the address

Technical issues during filming can also cause rejection.

If the rejection relates to these required elements, we can re-record the footage for you at no additional charge.

Is the $100 filming fee refunded if verification is rejected?

No. The $100 fee covers the service of filming and submitting the video on your behalf. It is not tied to the outcome, and Google makes the final verification decision.

However, if Google requests a re-record because one of the three main requirements (street context, address signage, or your business logo at the address) was unclear, we can re-record these elements for you at no extra cost.

Can I use a coworking space for my Google Business Profile?

Yes, as long as the address represents a genuine business location with real access and signage.

What happens if my Google video verification is rejected?

Rejections usually occur when key proof is missing or unclear. Common issues include:

  • No clear shot of the street and surrounding area
  • Address “888 Brunswick Street” not visible or readable
  • No signage or logo linking the address to your business name
  • No proof of access (door opening) or workspace

You can re-film the video making sure each of these elements is clearly captured. Salt Space can help you plan the shots so everything is covered.

How long does Google Business video verification take?

Most video verifications are reviewed within 24–48 hours, but times can vary depending on Google’s review queue. You’ll receive a notification in your Google Business Profile once a decision is made.

⚠️Important: Google makes the final verification decision. We provide the setup, signage and guidance to maximise your chance of success, but verification cannot be guaranteed.
