Housewarming Guide for new Coworkers

Welcome to Salt Space Coworking – New Farm, and thank you for choosing to be one of the people who make our coworking space a wonderful place. 

This welcome pack provides all information on our space and the terms and conditions of your membership to assist you in making the most of your coworking experience. 

🖶 Printing & Stationery

  • Location: Reception printer
  • Printer: Brother MFC-L8690CDW (on Salt Space WiFi)
  • Free for reasonable use
  • Instructions/troubleshooting posted above printer

Scanning

  • Instructions located above printer

Stationery

  • Paper, pens, post-its, stapler, tape available beside printer
  • Paper and toner cartridges in drawers below printer

🔒 Access & Security

Exit Checklist (after 5pm / weekends):

  • Turn off aircon
  • Turn off lights
  • Close windows
  • Lock glass doors
  • Close street-level door

Access Cards & Keys

  • Report lost cards/keys ASAP
  • Cards are individual and not shareable

Security Deposit

  • $400 required for 24/7 access
  • Fully refundable on card/key return (provide bank details for refund)

  • Guests are welcome during business hours
  • Please be mindful of space and belongings

  • All members: 2hrs FREE per day (subject to availability)

Hot Desks

  • Look for “DESK AVAILABLE” signage
  • Shared, first-come, first-served

Dedicated Desks

  • Includes storage & shelving
  • 24/7 access available with deposit
  • Desks are your own space and not used by others

📶 WiFi, Equipment & Comfort

  • WiFi login signage posted around the space
  • You can use monitors on “Desk Available” desks
  • Please do not move items from reserved desks
  • You may bring and use your own devices
  • Use aircon/windows as needed, but switch off and close before leaving
  • Calls allowed at desks with headphones
  • For privacy, use the meeting pod, meeting room, or balcony

📅 Invoicing & Cancellations

Payment Terms

  • Dedicated Desks: monthly in advance
  • Hot Desks: upfront for pass
  • Studios: 1 month in advance

Cancellation Notice

  • Hot Desks: Flexible (refund or credit)
  • Dedicated Desks: 2 weeks
  • Studios: 1 month

🪑 Facilities & Cleaning

End of Trip (Shower)

  • Bathroom next to meeting room
  • Body wash, bathmats, and spare towels provided

Balcony

  • Shared space, no smoking
  • Carry your access card when outside

Cleaning

  • Cleaners visit Tuesday & Friday mornings
  • Please clean your own space
  • Use kitchen bins for food waste
  • Large cardboard goes in blue-lid bin downstairs
  • Do not use yellow-lid bins (for residents only)

🍽️ Kitchen Use

  • Two kitchens with fridge, microwave, sandwich press, toaster
  • Milk, tea, coffee, filtered water provided

Coffee Machine

  • Located in meeting room kitchen
  • Ground coffee/choc/sugar in cupboard above microwave
  • Clean after use and refill with filtered water

Food Storage & Labelling

  • Use labels and pens provided
  • Store food in fridges or cupboards below benches
  • Expired/unlabelled food removed on weekends

🛍️ Building & Safety

Parking

  • Free street parking nearby
  • 3hr free undercover parking at Merthyr Village

Fire Safety

  • No fire alarms in building
  • Evacuation diagram provided
  • Fire hose/extinguishers on deck & entry

Permitted Use

  • Office use only
  • No overnight stays permitted
  • Coworkers must arrange their own contents & public liability cover
  • Use tested and compliant electrical devices
  • Your data is only used to operate Salt Space
  • Invoices sent via Odoo, updates via email
